I watched the film ten years ago after my college English professor admitted his was a huge William Borroughs fan. He had this way of describing Borroughs's writing: "It's like he threw a dictionary in a blender and came out with a Pulitzer Prize winner." The end of the movie was actually based on fact: he had shot his common law wife in Mexico while playing William Tell drunk. I've read the book, too, which is quite different than the movie.

But I digress.

I'm very pleased with seeing something very obscure on DevArt (and moreso that I actually recognize. ^_^;;; )

Yeah, I believe the movie is supposed to be a sort of biography of Borroughs more than it is actually supposed to follow the book, like a twisted visual representation of his mind processes and stuff. Wasn't he a huge drug addict, after all?
I don't really know though, and I haven't read the book yet.
